LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

📊 AI goes from nice-to-have to business-critical

The Rundown: Three years of Delta Media survey data show AI's importance to brokerage leaders climbed more than 30% since 2024.

The details:

  • Importance score moved from 5.45 in 2024 to 7.12 today, and 8.25 looking 12 to 18 months out

  • 97% say their agents already use AI

  • 55% plan to expand AI into CRM and workflow automation, 52% into recruiting and coaching

  • 50% plan to adopt or expand agentic tools this year

  • Survey of 100+ leaders at firms behind two-thirds of 2025 US transactions

Why it matters: The 2026 plans target the systems your day runs on.

🐝 Hive MLS turns on RealReports for 20,000 agents

The Rundown: Every Hive subscriber in the Carolinas and Georgia now gets RealReports' AI property platform with their dues, effective Sept. 15.

The details:

  • Pulls 100+ data sources covering roughly 150 million US properties into one interface

  • Includes Aiden, an agentic layer that drafts client-ready materials and prices context

  • Expands a 2025 Georgia pilot that reached about 6,400 subscribers

Pro tip: Ask your MLS what AI ships with your dues. Plenty of agents are paying twice for bundled tools.

🤝 Mainstay buys Truelist, adds $18M

The Rundown: Mainstay, the data firm that started inside Opendoor, acquired AI listing platform Truelist alongside more than $18 million in growth capital.

The details:

  • Truelist founder Carey Armstrong, formerly of Zillow and Tomo, becomes chief strategy officer

  • Truelist launched in 2025 as an AI listing coordinator

  • Mainstay is pushing its residential platform into the brokerage market

What we're watching: Standalone listing coordinators keep getting absorbed. Sign short contracts.

🕵️ Your next lead may be a bot working for your client

The Rundown: Meta's Muse agent hit No. 2 on the US App Store, and testers caught it pulling Instagram interest data that wasn't visible in Instagram's own settings.

The details:

  • The Verge watched Muse clear an inbox and finish an Amazon purchase unattended

  • Meta confirmed Muse infers interests from a connected Instagram account

  • Expect buyers to delegate research, scheduling and outreach to tools like this

CASE STUDY

🏗️ HistoryMaker fixed the plumbing before buying AI

The Rundown: A Fort Worth builder spent three years rebuilding its systems and data before touching AI, and says it's only now entering the "walk" phase.

The details:

  • Who: HistoryMaker Homes, 77 years old, competing against national scale

  • What: New ERP, connected systems, one data warehouse, then 60 floor plans in 18 months

  • Result: One interoperable system instead of layered parallel workflows

  • The lesson: President Zac Thompson wouldn't spend $2 million on proprietary AI. He partnered instead.

Why it matters for you: Same math at agent scale. If your contacts live in three places, no tool fixes that.
