LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

🤖 Compass ships an AI Assistant that executes, not just writes

The Rundown: Compass added a conversational AI Assistant to its Home Platform on July 21, moving from AI that drafts content to AI that finishes tasks.

The details:

  • Agents type plain-language prompts instead of clicking through software.

  • It reads across contacts, pipeline, marketing and tasks, then acts.

  • It updates records, drafts follow-ups, builds saved searches and manages transactions.

  • It sends daily briefings and surfaces "Likely to Sell" picks from existing data.

Why it matters: The bar moved from "write my listing description" to "run my follow-up."

💰 Uniti raises $12M for AI agents that work the phones

The Rundown: New York's Uniti closed a $12M Series A led by Pathlight, with MetaProp participating.

The details:

  • Its AI agents schedule tours, chase inquiries and close deals over the phone, plus collections, maintenance and renewals.

  • The company runs over 300,000 two-way conversations a month.

  • One self-storage operator reported 214% ROI. Some properties tripled inquiry-to-move-in conversion.

Pro tip: Ask any AI vendor for conversion lift from inquiry to signed, not "hours saved." Uniti published theirs.

🧩 RealPage buys Cherre and admits the data comes first

The Rundown: RealPage acquired data platform Cherre. CEO Dirk Wakeham told Inman the goal is pushing AI past task automation into decision intelligence.

The details:

  • Cherre keeps its name, stays independent and gets more capital. Terms weren't disclosed.

  • Wakeham's argument: you can't trust AI built on four systems that disagree on the same number.

  • Cherre reconciles one address written three ways across three systems.

  • The deal follows RealPage's November 2025 DOJ settlement over rent-setting software.

What we're watching: "AI can only transform real estate if it understands real estate." Same goes for your database.

🎥 Roomvu turns recruiting pages into video that posts itself

The Rundown: Roomvu launched a platform on July 24 that turns a brokerage's recruiting copy into branded video and schedules it.

The details:

  • Its News2Video tool converts an article or web page into video.

  • Posts auto-schedule across connected social accounts, and agents can reshare.

  • EXIT Strategy Realty is already using it. Available now.

AI TRAINING

🎯 Buyer trust in AI is falling. Use it.

The Rundown: Buyers assume AI is everywhere in the transaction and trust it less than a year ago. That makes your judgment the scarce thing.

The details:

  • Trust in AI to help find a home fell from 30% to 16% in under a year, per Cotality.

  • 55% now want a human to secure their mortgage, up nine points.

  • Anyone can publish daily, so posting consistently no longer signals competence.

  • What's left: position, point of view, proof.

  • This week, swap one generic market update for a call you got wrong.
